Day trip to old city, Kamakura
Kamakura is an ancient city that has produced its own, original culture.Kamakura began flourishing as a temple town in the 17th century. Blessed with the nature of the ocean and surrounding green hills, Kamakura today attracts a large number of tourists and it’s a perfect day trip from Tokyo. Approx 50 minutes by train from Sinagawa, approx 60 minutes from Tokyo station.

Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Shrine(鶴岡八幡宮)
Tsurugaoka Hachimangu located at the center of Kamakura establised in 1063. This shrine is famous of giving good luck for job,fight and success in life.It’s sacred place having vortex especially under the large ginkgo tree at left side of steps.

Around November, you can see little girls wearing traditional kimono at the Japanese traditional event of ‘Shichi-Go-San’ to celebrate children’s growth.
Hasedera temple(長谷寺)
After climb up the hill, it will provide a really good view over the ocean. There are beautiful gardens with flowers and fish ponds.
Hokokuji (報告寺)
Another name Bamboo temple.Small bamboo forest surround this temple.Approx 20 min walk from central Kamakura.
Meigetsuin (明月院)
“The window to enlightenment” provides the ZEN moment. It is also famous for their Hydrangea in rainy season in June.
Enkakuji (円覚寺)
Famous sightseeing spot at the front of Kitakamakura station.
Zeniaraibenzaiten Shrine (銭洗弁財天)
The water of a spring in its cave are said to be able to multiply the money washed in it.

Komachi-dori (小町通り)
Komachi-dori is a relatively newly named street with souvenir stores for tourists that run from Kamakura station to Tsurugaoka Hachiman-gu Shrine.
